About Accreditation

  • Benefits of Accreditation

  • Accredited agencies will identify themselves as “Accredited Agency” while qualified agents associated with the accredited agencies can apply to use the designatory letters “Accredited Agent or Accredited Salesperson”. SAEA Ltd will promote and market “SAEA” as a brand name as having achieved acceptable professional standards of estate agency. The general public which seeks the services of SAEA-accredited estate agents will be assured of competent services of a reasonable standard.

Accredited agencies are accessible to the use of RESALENET for HDB resale transactions. Accredited agents or salespersons are also recommended in the HDB Infoweb. SAEA supports nationproperty.sg which is the leading property portal in Singapore.

In addition, accredited agents/salespersons will be able to attend regular workshops on estate agency. The purpose is for accredited agents/salespersons to keep themselves up-to-date with the latest developments and to share experiences within the estate agency.

Another benefit for accredited agents/salespersons and consumers employing the services of accredited agents/salespersons is that they can avail themselves to mediation and other dispute resolution services at the SISV Dispute Resolution Centre with effect from 1 Jun 2010. The purpose of this service is to assist buyers and sellers as well as landlords and tenants to resolve disputes arising from the service with each other and with the accredited agent/salesperson or agency concerned.

  • Why Accreditation

  • Buyers and sellers as well as landlords and tenants are presently more knowledgeable and sophisticated about their property and the living environment. Estate agents therefore need to be competent and proficient in their work as well as equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills when advising on property transactions. When an agent is accredited, it means he/she has met the basic competency standards set by the accreditation body for the industry. At the same time, he/she has to abide by a professional code of conduct and practice prescribed by the accreditation body. Accreditation is the mark of professional business practice and deemed to be characteristic of career agents of the future.
