Application for RES Course

CEA requires all new entrants to take a compulsory REA/ RES exam preparatory course before taking the respective examinations. Please note that only courses provided by CEA Approved Course Providers will be recognised for licensing/ registration purposes.

Provisional registered salesperson (existing salesperson registered with CEA and have yet to pass an industry exam before 31 Dec 2010) are not required but are encouraged to take the exam preparatory courses before registering for the REA/ RES examination. CEA has also extended the deadline for provisional registered salespersons to pass the RES examination to 30 June 2012 and their provisional registration will be extended till 31 December 2012, subject to a pass in the RES examination. Those who are unable to do so will have their registration lapsed after 30 June 2012.

Successful candidates must apply for registration / licensing with CEA within 24 months of the date of issuance of the examination certificate after which, results will be invalid for licensing and registration purposes.

Minimum Criteria

The applicant must:

a) Be at least 21 years old

b) Possess at least one of the following:

- Minimum qualification of 4 GCE 'O' levels passes in two (2) sittings or

- Diplomas from the local* polytechnics (NYP,NP,SP,TP,RP) or

- Degrees from the local* universities (NUS, NTU, SMU).

*Applicants with private or foreign diplomas/degrees will need to have their qualifications assessed by CEA for purpose of determining whether the educational qualification requirement is met. Please click Here for the CEA Assessment Form, ensure you have completed your details correctly, signed scan and email back to us at edu@saea.org.sg together with:

1. Your private / foreign diploma / degree certs
2. Academic transcript with full listing of subjects taken with grades indicated
3. Official explanatory notes with grading system (for foreign High School / Secondary School)
4. Translated Copies (If medium used is non-English)
 
Please take note of the following:
 
1. Assessment will be submit to CEA on every Mon. If Mon is a Public Holiday, it will be submit on the next working day.
2. Make sure all the necessary documents i.e. certificates, transcripts, CEA Assessment form before you email back to us.
3. That assessment will take up to 15 working days or more.
4. Applications with incomplete documents will be delayed.
5. You will received an email notification from CEA of the assessment result. You are required to bring a copy of the email when you register for the RES Course.

Individuals who do not possess the qualifications under (b) will be required to take the Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) assessment administered by WDA. A WPLN (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing and Numeracy) Level 5 will be recognised in lieu of 4 GCE "O" level passes. Details of the assessments can be found Here

Course Details

Course fees:

$788.00 for public

$728 for staff of SAEA Accredited Agents/Companies

Fees are inclusive of 7% GST but DO NOT include Examination Fee (Click Here for information on exam and exam fees)

There are 18 lessons (54 hours) in total for Day / Evening Classes or 9 lessons (54 hours) for Full Day Classes. The following classes are currently available:

Our Lecturers:

Dr Tan Tee Khoon, Mr Ong Chin Hwee, Mr Sunny Lee, Mr Leslie Goh, Mr Jason Quek, Mr Ray Ng, Mr Dennis Tay, Mr Steve Liu & Mr Lee Heng Mun have more than 15 years of real estate industry experience while Ms Devi Haridas is an experienced lawyer in real estate conveyancing.

Registration

Applicants must produce the following documents and read the terms and conditions (see below) upon registration:

i) Local Educational Certificate (4 GCE 'O' levels passes / Diploma from local polytechnics (NYP,NP,SP,TP,RP) / Degrees from the local universities (NUS, NTU, SMU)

ii) Photocopy of your NRIC (front & back)

iii) Letter of authentication from SAEA’s accredited agent/company to verify that the applicant is from the company (for those who are paying $728 rate)

NOTE: Existing real estate salespersons are not required to submit document (i).

For Paypal / Credit card payment, please click Here to register. Please ensure that the above documents (i.ii & iii) have been scanned and ready for upload. Course fees will NOT be refunded if the certificates do not fall under those categories mentioned above.   

For Cash / Nets / Cheque payment, please register directly at our office during our operating hours i.e. Mon-Fri, 9am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm. You are required to produce the above documents upon registration. Application forms can be downloaded below.  

Terms & Conditions

1. Certificate of Attendance

Please take note of the following:

  • You are required to fulfill a minimum of 75% attendance in order to attain the Certificate of Attendance.
  • Certificate of Attendance will only be awarded on the last day of lesson.
  • You are required to sign your attendance at the beginning and at the end of the class.
  • You will not be able to sign your attendance if you are more than 15 MINUTES late. This "15 MINUTE" rule will also apply if you return late from breaks or leave early before lesson ends. In the aforesaid situations, you will be marked as ABSENT. 

2. Payment

a) Payment must be made and received prior to the commencement of the course.

b) In the event of a returned cheque, an additional administrative fee of S$20.00 shall be levied.

c) Paypal or Credit Card payment is available for applications submitted online only.

d) No refund shall be made for withdrawal from the course for whatever reasons received upon commencement date of the course.

e) All applications will be processed on first-come-first-serve basis. Registration will be closed early before the closing date if it is fully booked.

f) Any Application Form that is incomplete, without the necessary documents and/or without the course fee shall be rejected.

3. Course Changes

SAEA reserves the right to change or make any amendments to the dates / venue / lecturers for the course without any prior notice.  Full refund will be made in the event of course cancellation.

4. Copyright & Prohibition on Recording

It is acknowledged by the course applicant that all course materials provided remain always the intellectual property of SAEA unless otherwise stated. No part of the course materials shall be reproduced without permission in any form. Audio and/or video recordings of the lectures are strictly prohibited.
