Date & Time of Examination
The schedule of monthly examination is stated below. Please be informed that due to an overwhelming number of candidates, we will be conducting the CES examination in 2 time slots for all examination dates unless otherwise stated. Registered candidates will be assigned to either the 11am-1pm or 2-4pm time slot.
Candidates will receive notification letters a week before the date of examination of the time slot assigned and no alternative option will be provided. Please note that the same time slot will apply for both days of the examination. Should a candidate not receive any notification letter a week before the date of examination, he/she is required to contact the SAEA office. While every effort is made to ensure that notification letters are sent to candidates, please note that SAEA is not responsible for any delay in postal services resulting in late delivery/loss of notification letters.
Candidates who have taken the CES course at any Approved Training Centre (ATC) must register and make payment through their respective ATCs. Walk-in registrations are now available Sep to Nov 2010 examinations. The final CES examination is held on 13-14 Nov 2010 after which CES shall cease.

Examination
Two 2-hour papers cover the core topics in the syllabus. Each paper will comprise 100 compulsory multiple choice questions. Each question is 1 mark. Candidates are advised to attend the courses conducted by 19 Approved Training Centres and prepare well for the examination. Past examination statistics in May 2008 to Jun 2010 show that the passing rate ranges from 52% to 79%.
All registrations for the Examination must be made on the official Application Form. All applications must reach the Secretariat no later than the stipulated closing date for the relevant Examination. However, due to upsurge in demand, there is a possibility that the intakes may be full before closing dates.
Candidates who pass both papers shall receive their CES certificates in a graduation ceremony. The graduation fee is $120 (includes hotel refreshments and congratulatory ad in The Straits Times Classifieds). Those not able to attend the graduation ceremony shall receive their certificates by mail after the ceremony.
